El
Aston Martin DB 4
GT Zagato esta considerado, como uno de los más bonitos y exclusivos de todos los tiempos. Es una versión
carrozada por la factoría de
Zagato en Milán, como un intento a la desesperada de batir a los
Ferrari 250GT, en la competiciones de Gran Turismo.
Se realizaron casi 100 unidades de la versión
GT en
UK, de las que tan solo 19 chasis y todas las partes mecánicas se llevaron a Milán para su
carrozado. La carrocería del
Zagato es
considerablemente más pequeña y ligera que la original, ya que se construyó mediante paneles de aluminio sobre un entramado de tubos de acero, además se eliminaron todos los elementos no esenciales como los
paragolpes, ya que la idea era rebajar el peso al máximo posible.
El motor también se mejoró respecto al GT normal, ya que se incrementó la relación de compresión a 9,7:1, dando 314 caballos 48 más que original, capaz de alcanzar los 246 km/h de velocidad punta, y llegar de los 0 a 100km/h en tan solo 6,1 segundos.
Para los coleccionistas es una auténtica joya de la corona, ya que si en el 1991, 4 chasis originales que habían quedado sin usar, se llevaron nuevamente a Milán para realizar 4 replicas externamente exactas al Zagato, y se vendieron por más de 1 millón de dolares, sobre los 19 originales se han llegado a pagar cerca de 2,5 millones de dolares.
Sin duda Slot Classic quiere hacer un homenaje a los 3 Aston Martin que participaron en las Le Mans de 1961, con los dorsales 1, 2 y 3. Después de los esfuerzos por realizar una máquina competitiva y capaz de ganar a los Ferrari 250GT, la realidad es que los resultados en carrera fueron desastrosos.

Decoración del inglés Jack Fairmain y el francés Bernard Consten, que pilotarían el 1 VEV, en las Le Mans de 1961. Lamentablemente tuvieron que retirarse, por problemas con las tuercas de la junta principal del motor a las 3h, después de 22 vueltas.

Decoración de los galos Jean Kerguen y Jacques Dewez que pilotaron el Aston Martin DB 4 GT Zagato color mantequilla y dorsal número 1. Lamentablemente y ya casi al final de la prueba, tuvo que retirarse por problemas eléctricos a las 24h, después de realizar 286 vueltas.

La carrocería del Zagato es considerablemente más pequeña y ligera que la original, ya que se construyó mediante paneles de aluminio sobre un entramado de tubos de acero, además se eliminaron todos los elementos no esenciales como los paragolpes, ya que la idea era rebajar el peso al máximo posible.
